Why Founding TransformBase is Vital for the Tech World

In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, it's clear that every company must be a tech company to thrive in today's digital age. Yet, despite this necessity, many organisations find themselves standing on the sidelines, still determining how to harness the transformative power of emerging technologies. This gap between technological advancement and effective adoption poses a significant challenge to businesses and society alike.

Enter TransformBase, a groundbreaking initiative set to redefine how businesses engage with emerging technologies. Founded by visionary tech leaders Eric Van der Kleij and Gokce Gizer Clover, TransformBase aims to bridge the knowledge and implementation gap that currently exists in the tech world.

At the core of TransformBase's mission is the belief that business leaders must take proactive steps to understand and deploy emerging technologies within their organisations. The initiative will initially focus on five key emerging technologies: AI, quantum computing, immersive technologies (AR/VR), blockchain, and 5G/6G.

TransformBase will facilitate collaboration between tech experts, business leaders, investors, founders, and policymakers. Through a series of events and working groups, TransformBase will develop technology-specific business roadmaps that align with government policies and consider their broader societal implications.

This initiative builds on the UK Government's AI Safety Summit outcomes, emphasising the importance of emerging technologies for businesses. Eric Van der Kleij, co-founder of TransformBase, underscores the urgency of this mission, stating, "If every company is a tech company, but many are sitting it out, at great risk to them and their workforces, then it’s clear more support is needed. TransformBase acts as that catalyst, empowering these enterprises and their investors to steer confidently toward a prosperous and purpose-driven future."

The journey begins with TransformBase's inaugural event on November 9th, 2023, at Kings Place in London. This event will bring together over 400 business leaders, tech innovators, investors, educators, and policymakers. It's designed to tap into collective intelligence and actively involves attendees in developing actionable roadmaps for businesses and society.

Key figures from technology, business, and government have thrown their support behind this vital mission. Speakers include Lord Dominic Johnson, Sherry Coutu, Nicola McCormick, and Fabrice Beaulieu. The event's agenda has been meticulously crafted through interviews with over 30 business leaders and technologists, focusing on critical challenges like integration, security, privacy, change management, cost implications, and scalability.

TransformBase won't stop at the event's conclusion. It will maintain momentum through quarterly working groups, refining technology-specific roadmaps and sharing insights with influential global bodies, including the World Economic Forum at Davos in January 2024.

The inspiration for TransformBase comes from co-founder Daniel Doll-Steinberg, whose recent book, "Unsupervised," calls for increased citizen engagement with emerging technology. He highlights the urgency of these discussions: "Powerful new technologies are reshaping every aspect of our lives. We must have an open conversation on harnessing their potential for a better society. While forums exist for discussion, what's lacking is a platform for leaders to translate insights into actions. TransformBase is that platform—it poses questions and delivers answers."

Join the movement and be part of a transformative journey with TransformBase. Visit the TransformBase website for more information and to book your place at the event.
