About Lucy Cooper (Panellist)
Lucy Cooper leads customer innovation across EMEA & APJ for Microsoft as well as leading the strategy globally for the group, working with teams of world-class researchers, engineers, developers and more to apply innovation today to unlock and accelerate value at scale. Together, they cultivate growth mindsets, scale experimentation and develop breakthrough digital products, services and business models.
Lucy began her career with Accenture Strategy before leaving to Silicon Valley through Y Combinator to set up a digital fundraising platform. She then led VC activities and strategy for a communications and PR firm in London before taking a director role in building a London-based growth consultancy. She then headed back to Accenture to lead innovation for Europe for several years. Lucy has built an exceptional network of accomplished thinkers and doers.
This diverse strategy, partnership and innovation experience honed Lucy's skills in leading teams and projects, advising deals and building ventures. Having worked in both corporate and early-stage startup settings, she knows how to bring innovation from high-growth communities to corporates, facilitating C-Suite and Boards in creating strong growth playbooks.
Lucy is a champion for women’s issues, an advocate and mentor for women in technology and a student of unconventional leadership practices. She is a skilled Board and C-Suite facilitator and mediator. She enjoys sharing her perspectives as a member of the World Economic Forum’s YGLs, YPO, Huffington Post blogger, TEDx speaker and moderator.
About Dr Harvey Lewis (Panellist)
Harvey is a senior technology leader, with a diverse background spanning rocket science, data science and research. He has 30 years of experience in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. He is a strategist, innovator and thought leader focused on applying technology to solve problems for clients in the public, private and charity sectors. He is currently pioneering the use of AI in EY’s tax and law practice, and leads the firm’s emerging technology thought leadership.
Harvey is an accomplished writer and public speaker, winning the 2017 Management Consultancies Association Award for the best use of thought leadership investigating the impact of AI on the UK’s economy.
Harvey is a former member of the Open Data User Group, the Public Sector Transparency Board and the Advisory Committee to the All-Party Parliamentary Group on AI. He is a member of techUK’s leadership committee for Data Analytics and AI, on the editorial board for the ‘Real-World Data Science’ platform of the Royal Statistical Society and is also an Honorary Senior Visiting Fellow at The Bayes Business School in London.
Harvey lives in the South Downs National Park with his wife and sons.
About Tony Lewis (Panellist)
Tony is a Series A Silicon Valley Tech Founder, Investor, Board Director, and the Co-Founder and CEO of the AI-first platform and consultancy, Genforge. Data tech, machine learning, and AI have been central to his passion for over ten years.
As Co-Founder at Grai (YC S22), Tony built open-source data lineage to underpin pipeline quality. As Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Confident Cannabis (YC S15) the B2B platform and leading software for medical testing laboratories, they grew to 60% market share and 10,000 monthly active users, and raised $20 million+ in VC funding through seed and series A from globally leading funds including Y Combinator (S15). They built internal machine learning tech including dimension reduction algorithms, product recommendations using collaborative filtering, sorting, and NLP using RNNs (before transformers). Recognized by MG Magazine as one of the best employers in the industry.
Tony previously had a 10-year career in London as an investor with Park Street Partners and Macquarie Bank, and as an advisor focused on private equity M&A with Lazard and Merrill Lynch. He has led more than $700 million in investments in debt and equity and advised on M&A transactions worth more than $5 billion.
Tony is a member of various professional associations, including YPO the world’s largest leadership community of chief executives, and VAB.
About Matt Hawkins (E-Byte)
As an entrepreneur with a passion for developing innovative and sustainable technology and services to make the world a better place, Matt has founded and scaled multiple tech startups over the years. His past ventures were all acquired or merged, and my most recent endeavor, Cudo, is changing the game for cloud compute by enabling a more sustainable world through democratising infrastructure.
His experience includes founding and scaling C4L, one of the UK's fastest-growing ISPs, which was recognised with multiple awards, including the Times Tech Track 100 and Deloitte EMEA Fast 500. During this time, they built one of the largest private networks in the UK, including our own data centre, which was scaled to over 1% of the UK's internet infrastructure. Their clients included government entities, FTSE 250 companies, top 100 VARs, ISPs, resellers, and SMBs.
