Exploring the Future at the end of 2024
This week, we tuned into Jimmy Nguyen’s podcast featuring EdenBase’s Daniel Doll-Steinberg - a great discussion on their influences but also really thought provoking on technology’s promise and its ethical challenges.
A standout moment came around the 53-minute mark when Jimmy asked Daniel about transhumanism and human-computer interfaces. Daniel’s response was both thrilling and unsettling. He explored breakthroughs like human-embedded chips that could cure diseases or supercharge learning—offering immense potential but raising tough ethical questions. Who gets access? Could these technologies deepen inequality? How far should we go in merging biology with machines?
Much like Daniel’s book Unsupervised (Wiley), this conversation stressed the need for broader input - not just from elites - on shaping these technologies. With Elon Musk’s Neuralink and others pushing the boundaries, the time to reflect and act is now.
A Call to Engage
At EdenBase, we believe founders, investors, policymakers - and you our reader must be part of this dialogue. Technology’s impact is too profound to be left to a select few.
We remain committed to advancing transformative technologies by investing responsibly into AI, quantum computing, and pioneering fields such as human-computer interfaces - ensuring they serve humanity, not the other way around.
Let’s build a future we can be proud of.
